As United Cambodian Community takes their initial steps in growing the Cambodian American Oral History + Narrative Project, I was invited to come on board to help bring the stories of twelve Cambodian Americans who have lived in Long Beach. For decades now, I have been absorbing Cambodian American history through my husband’s Cambodian Vietnamese roots, and listening to hours upon hours of these stories help me tighten the knots that keep us all connected in war and in victory, in exodus and arrival.
